Eastern
Railway has increased its total revenue loading to 5.535 Million Tonnes
in May, 2014 surpassing the target of 5.380 Million Tonnes as against
4.575 Million Tonnes during May, 2013. Coal loading figure alone stood
as high as 3.707 Million Tonnes in May this year.

The
total revenue earning from freight loading also increased to Rs.
413.13 Crores in May, 2014 as against Rs. 310.43 Crores earned during
May, 2013.
Thus
Eastern Railway has increased its freight loading by 20.98 % and
freight earning by 33.08 % in May, 2014 in comparison to the
corresponding month of the previous year.
The
cumulative revenue loading figure and freight earning of Eastern
Railway for April to May, 2014 have also increased to 11.017 Million
Tonnes and Rs 784.28 Crores respectively as against 9.217 Million Tonnes
of revenue loading and Rs. 607.34 Crores of revenue earning during
