Passenger travelling by MMTS Train was assaulted and robbed between Sitafalmandi and Secunderabad Railway Stations

It has been widely reported in the Media today that a Passenger travelling by MMTS   Train  was assaulted and robbed between Sitafalmandi and Secunderabad Railway Stations yesterday i.e.  14th June, 2014. In connection with the same, the facts concerning the incident are presented    below:-
Yesterday i.e. 14th June 2014, at about 1.20 pm , the Railway Protection Force (RPF) Security Control Room at Secunderabad Railway station received information from the Home Guard escorting Train No. 47180 Lingampalli-Falaknuma MMTS Service that a person was found lying with injuries besides the “UP” Railway line between Secunderabad and Sitafalmandi railway stations.

On receipt of the information, Sri B.R.M.Naik, Head Constable, Government Railway Police (GRP)/Secunderabad Post, who was performing duty nearby was rushed to the spot. The Head Constable found a male person aged about 60 yrs in semi-conscious state with bleeding injuries in the stomach. He immediately passed o­n the information to the GRP and RPF posts at Secunderabad Station and also informed the 108 Ambulance service. The Police Personnel and Ambulance service rushed to the spot and shifted the victim to Railway Hospital, Lallaguda and later to Yasodha Hospital, Secunderabad for better treatment. At present, the condition of the injured person is stable.

On initial enquiry by the Police, the injured person stated that at about 01.00 pm, while he was coming to Secunderabad Railway station from Sitaphalmandi on-foot, by the side of railway track to receive his relatives arriving by Devagiri Express, 5 unidentified persons manhandled and also stabbed him with a sharp object and snatched away Rs.600/- cash from his trouser pocket near the Route Relay Interlocking Cabin/Secunderabad.  The injured person managed to slowly walk a little ahead but fell down unconscious at the spot where he was found.  Further, he revealed his name as G.Dattatreya, S/o Sakaaram, aged 61 yrs, occupation: Retired Railway Guard, Resident of Flat No.306, Mytri Apartments, Sainikpuri, Secunderabad.
