9 dead as train derails near Mumbai between between Nagothane and Roha




Some passengers may be injured after a passenger train derailed between Nagothane and Roha in the Raigad district of Maharashtra at around 9.20am.
Engine and 4 coaches of 50105 Diva-Sawantwadi Road Passenger derailed between Nagothane and Roha stations (136 km from Mumbai) at 09.40 hrs on 4.5.2014.
9 persons have died and 30 injured in this derailment. The names of the dead and injured will follow.
The train's engine and a couple of coaches came off the tracks, officials informed.
Konkan Railway officials have rushed to the spot for assisting Central Railway in relief and restoration work. One Accident Relief Medical Van (ARMV) and one Accident Relief Train (ART) have been dispatched to the site by Konkan Railway. All possible assistance, as requested by Central Railway, is being extended for a quick relief and early restoration.
