Central Railway will run eight AC premium superfast special trains between Secunderabad –Visakhapatnam as per the following schedule:-

Train No. 02204 Secunderabad – Visakhapatnam Premium AC Premium Superfast Express train will depart Secunderabad o­n 5^th, 12^th, 19^th and 26^thDecember, 2014 (Fridays) at 11:00 pm and arrive Visakhapatnam at 09:05 am o­n the next day.

In the return direction, Train No. 02203 Visakhapatnam – Secunderabad Premium AC Superfast Express train will depart Visakhapatnam o­n 6^th, 13^th, 20^th and 27^th December, 2014 (Saturdays) at 09:10 pm and arrive Secunderabad at 07:00 am o­n the next day.

Enroute, these trains will stop at Vijayawada, Rajahmundry, Samalkot and Anakapalle in both the directions.

These trains will have 17 Coaches viz., o­ne First AC, three AC II Tier, eleven AC III Tier and two Power Car coaches.

         Advance booking for these Premium trains will commence at 8:00 am tomorrow i.e.,   25^th November, 2014 and the same can be done o­nly through IRCTC Portal o­n internet.

IED was removed from the platform area by the army

Improvised Explosive Device weighing about 6 kgs was recovered from a General Second Class coach of the 15471 Alipurduar Jn – Kamakhya Intercity Express today.The train, o­n entering Kendukana station in Kamrup District of Assam at about 10:55 AM was detained when, in course of a special ticket checking drive by a team led by a Railway Officer, a suspicious object was detected in the corridor near the toilet of the coach which was the fourth from the train engine. The train was detained at Kendukana and the Police and RPF rushed to the spot. o­n being checked by a sniffer dog, it was confirmed that the object was an explosive and it was taken to a safe spot o­n the platform and kept covered with bomb blankets. Finally the IED was removed from the platform area by the army with the help of a remotely operated vehicle to a nearby safer place and defused t around 4:15 PM.The Intercity Express had left Kendukana at 12:15 PM.

However, as is true for every dynamic system, a catalyst is required from time to time to take the momentum forward. I would like you to be that catalyst and take the Railway forward into the future and along with it, India. I would also like you to own your Railways system as o­ne for its amelioration, progress and its leap into the future.
Leo Tolstoy said, “Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no o­ne thinks of changing himself.” We must together follow this if we wish to bring the change required in the system; this change has to come from within. After installing high definition cameras at Kalupur station, Ahmedabad Division Railway is upgrading the network to read faces and alert officials concerned to the presence of anti-social elements on its premises. Railways not only expects to check crime but also reunite missing children with their families. The trial has begun and system will soon be up, said officials. As many as 54 HD cameras are installed on the Ahmedabad railway station premises in Kalupur.
Divisional railway manager and other senior officers, not just in Ahmedabad but also in Mumbai, can monitor these cameras sitting in their offices. Taking the arrangement a notch up, they are upgrading it to install 'Facerecognition system', DRM Alok Tiwari told Mirror. The available data of anti-social elements along with their photographs will be uploaded to the software. As soon as an undesirable person is detected by any of the cameras, his or her face will be locked on the screen and an alarm will go off alerting officials concerned.

Government Railway Police hope to prevent such incidents in the future with the help of the new system. Incidentally, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has installed 554 CCTV cameras at 62 public places in the city. This is the largest city-wide internet protocol (IP)-based CCTV network installed in any municipal corporation in the state.

The special cell would look into matters related to green clearance, environment friendly technologies, environmental impacts of rail operations and other such issues, Rail Bhawan sources said.
This is the first time that all matters regarding environment would be brought under one umbrella for better monitoring and prompt decision-making. “Emissions should go down, plantation of trees on railway land should be encouraged and quality of water being discharged should be as per norms,” Prabhu is learnt to have told Railway officials. The minister also wants renewable energy sources to become a “focus area” of the national transporter.
The plan includes works at railway production units, new projects and train operations. The Railway Board is learnt to have commissioned the task of developing a blueprint for the special cell.
The new government is working on ways to clear 28 rail projects across India, which have been held up for years for want of green clearances at various stages.

According to the new changes, the track, which was earlier planned in front of the old Assembly building, will now go from behind the Assembly building. Also, while the rail track at Sultan Bazar will now go behind Koti Women's College, the track will be realigned in the Old City and will now be going in the line of Musi River side.
At a meeting to review the progress of the Hyderabad metro rail project with the top officials of L&T, led by its chairman AM Naik, Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao assured the infrastructure company that the additional costs incurred due to the changes in the route alignment would be borne by the state government.

An RTI query has revealed that the Palakkad Division alone has a shortage of 16 coaches. “As on date, with a total of 16 general coaches short in various passenger trains, the division is operating 36 passenger trains,” said a reply to an RTI query filed by college student Ajay S. Kumar.
The main passenger trains affected are Mangalore Central-Kozhikode, Kozhikode-Kannur, Kozhikode-Thrissur, Kannur-Cheravathoor, Kannur-Coimbatore, Shornur Jn-Nilambur Road and Coimbatore-Thrissur.
A passenger train usually operates with 14 coaches but often runs with one or two bogies less due to coach shortage. The Thiruvananthapuram Division too faces the issue.

Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) to collect property tax from Railways

The corporation has been making attempts to collect the tax from the railways ever since T. Venkateswara Rao became the Mayor. The first demand was raised in 1984, and the accumulated demand touched Rs. 10 crore in 2006.
The VMC has been asking the railways to pay at least 50 percent of the property tax demand. But, the railways have said it will pay 33 per cent. And, the dues will be Rs. 5.5 crore if 33 per cent is to considered, sources say.

पूर्वोत्तर रेलवे के मुख्य जनसम्पर्क अधिकारी (सीपीआरओ) आलोक कुमार सिंह के अनुसार, 05057 स्पेशल ट्रेन गोरखपुर से 27 नवम्बर और 04 दिसम्बर को चलाई जाएगी। वहीं 05058 स्पेशल ट्रेन आनंद विहार से 26 नवम्बर और 03 दिसम्बर को चलेगी।
सिंह के अनुसार, 05057 स्पेशल ट्रेन गोरखपुर से रात 8.55 बजे प्रस्थान कर खलीलाबाद, बस्ती, गोंडा, लखनऊ, मुरादाबाद, गाजियाबाद होते हुए दूसरे दिन 11 बजे आनंद विहार पहुंचेगी।

रेलवे सूत्रों की मानें तो उत्तर रेलवे में चतुर्थ श्रेणी कर्मचारियों की नियुक्ति हुई है. तकरीबन 4200 कर्मचारियों में से 3900 कर्मचारियों को तैनाती दी गई है, जो विभिन्न कार्यालयों में ड्यूटी बजाते कागजों में दर्शाये जा रहे हैं. लेकिन सच्चाई इससे जुदा है.
सूत्र बताते हैं कि कर्मचारियों की कमी से जूझ रहे विभाग के अधिकारी सरकारी कामकाज की बजाय अपने निजी कार्यों को तवज्जो दे रहे हैं और इनमें से अधिकांश को अपने घर के कार्यों को निपटाने के लिए आवासों पर तैनात कर रखा है. ये हर दिन उनके घर के कायर्रें को निपटाते हैं और शाम को हुजूर के सामने हाजिरी रजिस्टर पर अपने दस्तखत कर मस्ती से घर चले जाते हैं.
सूत्रों का कहना है कि ट्रैकमैन, ट्रैक मेंटर, ट्रालीमैन, खलासी आदि पद पर नियुक्त 1000 से अधिक कर्मचारियों की ड्यूटी अधिकारियों के घर पर लगाए जाने से विभागीय कामकाज निपटाने में दिक्कतें आ रहीं हैं. यही वजह है कि काम का निपटारा समय से नहीं हो पाता है. बावजूद इसके उच्चाधिकारी इस ओर ध्यान नहीं दे रहे हैं और समस्या बढ़ती जा रही है.

तीसरे चरण की परीक्षा रविवार को हुई। इसके लिए प्रदेशभर में 251 केंद्र बनाए गए थे। इन सेंटर्स में 1 लाख 14 हजार 977 परीक्षार्थियों को परीक्षा देनी थी, लेकिन सिर्फ 30 हजार 731 ही शामिल हुए। 26 फीसदी लोगों ने इसमें दिलचस्पी नहीं दिखाई। रेलवे ने तीसरे चरण की परीक्षा के लिए बिलासपुर के 95 परीक्षा केंद्रों में 37 हजार 723, रायपुर के 61 परीक्षा केंद्रों में 21,696 और दुर्ग-भिलाई के 95 परीक्षा केंद्रों में 55 हजार 558 परीक्षार्थियों के बैठने की व्यवस्था की थी। इस बार की परीक्षा में भी परीक्षार्थियों ने दिलचस्पी नहीं ली।

ड्राइवर को नींद आने या रेड लाइट को जंप करने की समस्या खत्म हो जाएगी

ट्रेन ड्राइवरों की गलती को अब समय रहते पकड़ लिया जाएगा। इससे रेल हादसों की आशंका कम होगी। पहले चरण में आरडीएसओ की टीम ने ट्रेन प्रोटेक्शन वार्निग सिस्टम को हरी झंडी दी है। शनिवार को नई दिल्ली से आगरा के बीच आधा दर्जन ट्रेनों में सिस्टम का ट्रायल किया था। ट्रेनों को करीब 130 किमी प्रति घंटा की रफ्तार से चलाया गया। 1नई दिल्ली-आगरा रूट पर 160 किमी प्रति घंटा की रफ्तार से ट्रेनों का संचालन हो सकता है। ट्रेनों की रफ्तार बढ़ने से रेल हादसों से बचने के लिए रेलवे ने 35 ट्रेनों के इंजनों में ट्रेन प्रोटेक्शन वार्निग सिस्टम (टीपीडब्ल्यूएस) लगाया था। रेल सिगनल से ठीक पहले ट्रेन में ऑटोमेटिक ब्रेक लग जाते हैं। इससे ड्राइवर रेड सिगनल को क्रॉस नहीं कर सकता। शनिवार को नई दिल्ली से आगरा के बीच करीब आधा दर्जन ट्रेनों में टीपीडब्ल्यूएस का ट्रायल किया। रिसर्च डेवलपमेंट एंड स्टैंडर्ड ऑर्गनाइजेशन (आरडीएसओ) की टीम ने ट्रेनों की रफ्तार के डाटा की जांच की, जिसमें सिस्टम सही तरीके से काम करता हुआ मिला। रेलवे के एक अधिकारी ने बताया कि पूर्व में भी ट्रेन प्रोटेक्शन वार्निग सिस्टम के ट्रायल हो चुके हैं।

(KRCL) has cleaned up the inside of the Surathkal Railway Station after being criticised by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel last week. However, the cleared garbage was dumped in a 300 cubic feet trench right at the entrance of the station and was set on fire. When The Hindu visited the station on Thursday to do a reality check of the after-effect of the MP’s visit, about a tonne of garbage was on fire inside the trench, emanating thick smoke clouds. This was definitely a nuisance, said Nareshchandar, who was entering the station to board a train to Mumbai. KRCL officials said the garbage collected from within the station premises was dumped in the trench and set on fire. “The MP had directed us to clear the garbage,” an official said.

शुक्रवार दोपहर 12.15 बजे सुमावली स्टेशन से सरदारपुरा निवासी 70 वर्षीय गोपली जौरा जाने के लिए टे्रन में चढ़े। भीड़ होने के कारण वे कोच में जाने के बजाय डिब्बे की छत पर बैठ गए।
वैसे भी नैरोगेज ट्रेन के लिए यह रोजमर्रा की बात है। ट्रेन सुमावली से कुछ दूर थरा पहुंची ही थी कि झटका लगने से बुजुर्ग गोपली ट्रेन से नीचे गिर गए। ट्रेन अपनी गति से आगे बढ़ती रही, क्योंकि थरा में स्टॉपेज नहीं है। बुजुर्ग के गिरने से यात्रियों ने शोर मचाना शुरू किया। गार्ड व स्टाफ को दुर्घटना का पता चलने तक ट्रेन एक-डेढ़ किमी आगे जा चुकी थी। लोगों का शोर सुनकर चालक ने ट्रेन रोकी और डेढ़ किमी तक धीरे-धीरे रीवर्स लेकर आए।

India Railways revenue increase of 12.06 percentase cent.

The total approximate revenue earnings from Passengersduring 1st April 2014 – 31st October 2014 wereRs. 24,716.97 crore compared to Rs. 21247.64 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 16.33 percent.

The approximate revenue earnings from other coaching amounted to Rs.2,331.36 croreduringApril 2014 – October 2014 compared to Rs. 2187.47 crore during the same period last year, registering an increase of 6.58 per cent.

The total approximate numbers of Passengers booked during 1st April 2014 – 31st October 2014 were 4918.57 million compared to 4965.00 million during the same period last year, showing a decrease of 0.94 per cent. In the suburban and non-suburban sectors, the numbers of passengers booked during April 2014 - October 2014 were 2,664.95 millions and 2,253.62 millions compared to 2655.67 millions and 2309.33 millions, registering an increase of 0.35 per cent and a decrease of 2.41 per cent respectively, during the same period of last year.

Developing Multi-Functional Complexes offered o­n 30-45 years lease through open bidding process to private sector

RLDA has so far fixed Developers and sites have been awarded to them for setting up MFCs at seven stations o­n SCR viz. Dharmavaram, Kacheguda, Karimnagar, Nellore, Nizamabad, Vijayawada and Zahirabad for an amount of Rs 22.34 crores. MFCs will provide multiple passenger facilities like shopping, food stalls/restaurants, book stalls, PCO booths, ATMs, medicines and variety stores, budget hotels, food plaza and parking spaces etc. to rail users at railway stations. These sites are being offered o­n 30-45 years lease through open bidding process to private sector.

In all, thirteen stations have been identified o­n SCR for development of MFCs, which include the seven stations mentioned above. Amongst the others, the MFCs at Hyderabad and Rajahmundry have already been constructed and leased out. The MFCs at Aurangabad and Guntur have been constructed and are ready for commercial utilization. The MFCs at Kurnool Town and Nanded are under process of tendering to finalize agencies for taking up development works.

Train No. 07023 Hyderabad - Dharur Express special train will depart Hyderabad at 05.30 am o­n 14^th and 16^th November, 2014 and arrive Dharur at 01.30 pm o­n the same day.

In the return direction, Train No. 07024 Dharur - Hyderabad Express special train will depart Dharur at 07.00 pm o­n 14^th and 16^th November, 2014 and arrive Hyderabad at 03.00 am o­n the next day.

Enroute, these special trains will stops at Lingampalli, Vikarabad, Sadashivpet Road, Kohir (Deccan), Zahirabad, Bidar, Zahirabad, Kohir (Deccan) Sadashivpet Road, Vikarabad, Godamgura and Mailaram (H) stations.

These Special Trains will have Twelve General Second Class and Two Luggage cum Brake van Coaches totaling to Fourteen Coaches.

मालगाडी दुर्घटनाग्रस्त, यार्ड मास्टर निलम्बित

उत्तर प्रदेश के मथुरा जंक्शन पर यार्ड में बुधवार को आगरा की ओर से आ रही मालगाड़ी का इंजन एवं तीन वैगन पटरी से उतरने के बाद वहां खड़ी मालगाड़ी से टकरा गई जिससे एक रेलकर्मी घायल हो गया।

इस सिलसिले में यार्ड मास्टर ओडी कौशिक को प्राथमिक तौर पर दोषी पाए जाने के कारण निलम्बित कर दिया गया है। घटना की जांच के आदेश दे दिए गए हैं।

पवन नाम के लंगूर पर होगी सभी प्लेटफार्म से बंदर भगाने की जिम्मेदारी

चारबाग स्टेशन पर कम से कम एक साल तक बंदर यात्रियों को परेशान नहीं कर सकेंगे। उत्तर रेलवे लखनऊ मंडल ने यात्रियों को इस मुसीबत से निजात दिलाने के लिए एक लंगूर रखा है। पवन नाम के लंगूर को रेलवे सालाना पैकेज के रूप में 1.41 लाख रुपये देगा। यानी हर माह 11,750 रुपये।
रेलवे अधिकारियों के मुताबिक चारबाग स्टेशन पर नौ प्लेटफार्म हैं सबसे ज्यादा बंदरों का आतंक प्लेटफार्म एक से लेकर सात तक होता है। इन्हीं प्लेटफार्म पर जाने वाले फुट ओवर ब्रिज पर भी बंदर खाने-पीने का सामान छीनने के लिए यात्रियों को दौड़ाते और काटते हैं। इन सबसे निजात दिलाने के लिए पवन नाम के लंगूर के लिए एक साल के लिए रेलवे ने अनुबंध किया है। यात्रियों के साथ-साथ स्टाल संचालकों व फल विक्रेताओं को भी राहत मिल सकेगी।

रेलवे की कमाई बढ़ी

रेलवे की आय में चालू वित्त वर्ष के पहले सात माह में बारह प्रतिशत से अधिक की वृद्धि दर्ज की गई है, लेकिन यात्रियों की संख्या में साढे चार करोड़ से अधिक की गिरावट आई है। आधिकारिक आंकड़ों के अनुसार, रेलवे ने इस वर्ष अपे्रल से अक्टूबर के दौरान लगभग 86595.04 करोड़ रूपए की आय अर्जित की है, जबकि पिछले वष्ाü इसी अवधि की हुई 77273.88 करोड़ रूपए की आय से 12.06 प्रतिशत अधिक है।

आंकड़ों के अनुुसार इस अवधि में रेलवे ने माल ढोकर 51877.98 क रोड़ रूपए आय अर्जित की है जो पिछले साल की इसी अवधि में कमाई गई राशि से 11.12 प्रतिशत ज्यादा है। रेलवे ने इसी अवधि में यात्री किराए से 24716.97 करोड़ रूपए की कमाई की, जबकि इससे पिछले वर्ष इसी अवधि में इसी मद से 21247.64 करोड़ रूपए कमाए थे।

To ensure that rail projects do not languish for years and officers find a way to complete them within targets, Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu, who took charge this week, has decided to give two per cent of project cost to the project teams and their chiefs as reward. But if projects miss the deadlines, adverse comments will be entered in the Annual Confidential Report of the officials concerned.

Surat buffalo delays Rajdhani now

Around 7.40 pm on Monday, as the Mumbai-Delhi Rajdhani Express neared Bhestan in Surat, a buffalo came in its path. The driver slowed down and dragged the carcass for about a kilometre to Udhna, where he reported the incident to Deputy Station Superintendent B M Maheria. The train was inspected and an angle lock between the engine and the first coach was found damaged. Following repairs, the Rajdhani went on its way.

Railways have decided to run o­ne special train from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to  Hatia to clear the extra rush of passengers. The details are as under:

01213 special train will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 13.20 hrs o­n 14.11.2014 (Thursday) and will arrive Hatia   at 17.10 hrs next day.

HALTS: Kalyan, Nasik Road, Manmad, Jalgaon, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg,  Raipur, Bilaspur, Champa, Jharsuguda and Rourkela.

COMPOSITION:   Three AC 3-Tier, 10 Sleeper class and 1 General second class cum Guards' brake van.

जानकारी के अनुसार, पाटौनी (चाचौड़ा) हाल निवास सिया की बाड़ी निवासी श्यामबाबू विश्वकर्मा मंगलवार को रूठियाई से साबरमी एक्सप्रेस में बैठा था।
वह नेत्रहीन है। उनका आरोप है कि भीड़ अधिक होने के कारण वह जनरल कोच में लेट गया। इस बीच वहां पर जीआरपी के जवान पहुंचे और धक्का देकर उठाया तथा उतरने को कहा। उसने विकलांग सर्टिफिकेट भी दिखाया लेकिन पुलिसकर्मी नहीं माने और उतार दिया। पुलिसकर्मियों ने मारपीट की और अभद्र व्यवहार भी किया।
