Railway issue Press Release for Solve Some Mini but Major Problem at the Railway Stations.
General Manager, Eastern Railway opened a special booth at Sealdah station on the occasion of Good Governance Day on December 25, 2014, which was meant to register passengers’ grievances/suggestions. Arrangements have been made for prompt acknowledgement/feedback to the Rail users through SMS.
Shri Gupta instructed for installation of boards indicating platform numbers and other passenger amenities at Sealdah station as per standard international signages and to be placed at appropriate locations.
He also advised the Divisional authorities to make arrangements for regular testing of quality of water from all the water booths. Appropriate splash prevention arrangement should be made at all water booths by providing grills at floor.
It is also instructed to the Divisional Officers to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation of ‘Pay and Use Toilets’. Shri Gupta also advised that clocks and other indication boards should be kept in clean and maintained properly. Moreover, unauthorized vending activities should not be allowed on Railway platforms and in trains. He advised for replacement of present reservation chart boards by electronic boards for the convenience of the travelling passengers.
He also advised that the staff provided with uniform must wear the same with name badge while on duty particularly the safaiwala (cleaning staff).
RPF & GRP should be visible in platform and trains to enable passengers for quick redressal of their problems concerning to security. Lady RPF constables should also be deployed to solve problems of lady passengers.
