The General Manager’s Annual Inspection is an age old tradition of the Indian Railways wherein the complete Railway Infrastructure in one section in each of the Divisions is inspected thoroughly and improvements required for the betterment of the quality of service being provided to the public is assessed.
In course of this inspection, the Simaluguri, Sibsagar Town, Moranhat, Khowang and Dhamalgaon stations along with other Railway infrastructure like Bridges, Level crossings etc were inspected. Public Representatives and members of various public organisations met him at these stations. He also inaugurated a First Class Waiting Hall and two Retiring Rooms at Sibsagar Town and a 20 kW Solar Power Panel at Dhamalgaon.
Shri Aneet Dulat, Divisional Railway Manager of Tinsukia highlighted the following achievements of his Division during the current financial year :
- (i)The total Freight loading in terms of number of wagons loaded has increased by 13.5% this year compared to the previous year. The corresponding loading in terms of Metric tonnes has been 43.4% higher.
- (ii)Similarly, the total Freight earnings have shown an increase of 22.5%.
- (iii)There has been an increase of 12.5% in the Passenger earnings.
- (iv)Four Un-manned Level Crossing gates have been manned in the Division so far this year.
- (v)Two Un-manned Level Crossing gates have also been closed with adjoining Manned Level Crossing gates.
- (vi)On-line booking of Retiring Rooms over the Division has been introduced from 25thOctober 2014.
